If this is the plane that returned mid-July '67, it was Ens Robert Weber (now a retired Capt, down in Pensacola)who flew it back. I flew with him as a flight observer, along with a 2nd class mechanic from Det One to DaNang to return to plane to Cubi. When we arrived, the plane had to have further work before we could return to Cubi. However that night (15 July) DaNang got hit by a rocket attack. We had to pull out a roll of speed tape and patch up a number of shrapnel holes before we could return. We returned two or three days later following an air force plane, as our navigational instruments were out.

engine change in danang in 67

I trying too find any old Zapper ,who knows who the other mechs that went to danang in july of 1967 and helped lico grado and myself do a engine change and who the pilot was whoflew it back to cubi. thanks spud
