I flew with him as a flight observer, along with a 2nd class mechanic from Det One to DaNang to return to plane to Cubi. When we arrived, the plane had to have further work before we could return to Cubi. However that night (15 July) DaNang got hit by a rocket attack. We had to pull out a roll of speed tape and patch up a number of shrapnel holes before we could return. We returned two or three days later following an air force plane, as our navigational instruments were out. Posted by Bernie Fielder, YN2 (guest) on Sun 08 May 2011 11:40:34 PM EDT |
